Histology

The Histology Unit provides assistance to biology research scientist in processing tissue samples for routine histochemical and immunostaining procedures. We commonly train new users in sample preparation and sectioning with the available equipment in the laboratory.

Services provided:

• Paraffin embedding and sectioning
• Cryostat sectioning
• Vibratome sectioning
• Immunohistochemistry

The Histology Unit also provides service and supervision in preparative and microscope techniques in Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Tours and demonstration of the electron microscopy facility (JEOL 100CX TEM) are provided for schools.
